i just mortally offended me neighbourlady and offered to cook her food at the same time

pretty much told her if you feed your kid i will feed you... i always make enough for 6 anyway so no issues there

but i hate fussy eaters.... so i refuse to even pretend to give a shit about if her son will eat it,

apparently that makes me mean spirited lol

sometimes i wonder why im a loner... today aint one of those days

I’m like that now. If you want some of what I’m eating, you have it the way I’, eating it.

I used to live with a lass whos boyfriend moved in. I liked cooking spaghetti bolognese, only one didn’t like onions, the other didn’t like mushrooms, so I’d make three small pans. After a while I stopped putting in onions and mushrooms.

Now I just cook for myself and cook it the way I like it. If anyone asks for some I say yes, but if it’s follo wed with ‘but no ....’ and it’s something mixed in with the sauce, etc... I say, nope.

It’s not that hard to just pick out the onions and mushrooms. My wife like onions and lima beans, I just push the to the side of my plate when I come across one and go on eating.

Ye’, I would tell them that, and get, ‘but I can taste them’, or ‘but I don’t want to have to pick them out, when you can just not put them in’, etc... .

It worked out well. They had four kids, one girl and three boys so I’m sure they are going through what I had to go through.

Kids are so annoying these days, refusing point blank to try things and parents kowtow to them.

It sounds like my mother and grand father. From world travelled people who have lived in places where spices are an intrinsic part of food, they’ve become, ‘nothing spices for me’, ‘no garlic, I hate garlic’, ‘no peppers*, etc...

* Because they associate peppers with chilli peppers. Aaaarrrgghhh.

My mother was like that, you ate what was given or went without.

Even though me and my sister were coeliacs (now in remission for over two decades each), she brought us up to try new things.

She was never picky about food other than no smelly fish in the house but now, anything that may have any sort of flavour is a no no for her.
